After hearing what the Queen had to say people are feeling worried particularly since she just recently lost her husband, Philip.
People have sent their well wishes online doing these tough times.
The news of the Duke’s death was announced in a statement by the royal family.
“It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen has announced the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh,” it read.
“His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle. The Royal Family joins with people around the world in mourning his loss. Further announcements will be made in due course.“
Philip was the longest serving royal consort in British history he decided to retire from public engagements.
He reigned by the Queens side for over sixty years.
Tributes from members of the royal family were shared online.
Philip’s son, Prince Charles, was the first family member to speak about the loss.
Speaking from his Highgrove home, Prince Charles said:
“My dear Papa was a very special person who I think above all else would have been amazed by the reaction and the touching things that have been said about him, and from that point of view we are, my family, deeply grateful for all that.”
“As you can imagine, my family and I miss my father enormously.”
“He was a much loved and appreciated figure and apart from anything else, I can imagine, he would be so deeply touched by the number of other people here and elsewhere around the world and the Commonwealth, who also I think, share our loss and our sorrow.”
Prince William also wrote a very touching letter in honour of his grandfather.
William wrote: “My grandfather’s century of life was defined by service – to his country and Commonwealth, to his wife and Queen, and to our family.”
“My grandfather was an extraordinary man and part of an extraordinary generation. Catherine and I will continue to do what he would have wanted and will support The Queen in the years ahead,” he continued.
“I will miss my Grandpa, but I know he would want us to get on with the job.”
Prince Harry followed suit as he issued a personal statement on the Archewell website.
The statement was titles “In loving memory of His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh,” Harry wrote:
“My grandfather was a man of service, honor, and great humor. He was authentically himself, with a seriously sharp wit, and could hold the attention of any room due to his charm — and also because you never knew what he might say next.”
“He will be remembered as the longest-reigning consort to the Monarch, a decorated serviceman, a Prince and a Duke. But to me, like many of you who have lost a loved one or grandparent over the pain of this past year, he was my grandpa: master of the barbecue, legend of banter, and cheeky right ’til the end.”
“So, on that note, Grandpa, thank you for your service, your dedication to Granny, and for always being yourself. You will be sorely missed, but always remembered—by the nation and the world. Meghan, Archie, and I (as well as your future great-granddaughter) will always hold a special place for you in our hearts.”
“‘Per Mare, Per Terram’”
Philip’s funeral went ahead on Saturday, April 17th, at Windsor Castle…
Only thirty guests could attend due to COVID-19 restrictions.
There was a military presence with personnel from the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, Army, and RAF.
With senior members of the royal family, including Prince Charles and Prince William walking behind the car on the way to the church.
Buckingham Palace said the plans “very much” reflected the Duke’s wishes.
As Prince Philip is reported to have requested minimal fuss.
It was heartbreaking for people to see the Queen sit alone during the funeral.
A powerful picture that was captured has been shared online as Her Majesty donned in black clothes on her own in a church pew. This image has really touched the hearts of her nation and all around the world.
Just weeks after the passing of her husband the Queen suffered another tragedy.
The Queen is a huge dog lover, her five-month-old puppy Fergus sadly died after being purchased by Prince Andrew to help his mother cope with the grieving process while Philip was in hospital.
However people seem more upset over the Queen’s most recent confession.
Which arrived after the unveiling of a royal portrait.
When she saw her painting, she did express “hope” that she would get to see it in real life.
Understandably, this had people fearing the worst considering everything that has occurred so far this year.
