Dog Refused To Leave His Late Dad’s Hospital Bed

To you, your pet might be a friend or a family member. But to your pet, you are their whole world. There’s nothing more painful for a pet than losing their owner, and the sad part is, most of the time, they just couldn’t understand why.

Moose had just lost his beloved dad, and the poor boy absolutely had no idea what happened. They had been together for about one year.

“Moose sat patiently next to his dad’s hospital bed, waiting for him to return, not knowing that “dad” had passed away,” shared his shelter Eleventh Hour Rescue. “He’s taking the loss of his dad pretty hard.”

Before meeting this man, Moose’s life was already difficult enough. The luckless boy was spotted being tied to a railroad sign in front of an animal shelter in rural Georgia – maybe by his owners, maybe by someone else when something bad happened to his owners. It’s so sad to think that this pretty boy was once a happy dog with a home and a full belly, and then the next minute he suddenly became homeless.

However, it wasn’t the toughest part yet. Moose was staying at that shelter for so many months, but fortune didn’t smile on him. No one noticed that lonely boy. And it also happened to be a kill shelter, which meant Moose was getting closer and closer to a tragic ending.

Luckily for Moose, a volunteer of the shelter ached for this sweet guy and decided to call a partner of the Eleventh Hour Rescue in Georgia for help. Not long afterward, Moose was moved to the shelter in New Jersey, where his new dad adopted him and took him to his forever home.

“While at our rescue, Moose made lots of friends with the volunteers. We were won over by his happy personality and his love for life,” said the Eleventh Hour Rescue. “We were all rooting for Moose to find his perfect home. And then one day, his “dad” discovered him and they fell in love. Moose finally had a loving home of his own.”

Who would have thought that his forever home wouldn’t be “forever”? His dear dad passed away after only one year, leaving him all alone beside the empty hospital bed. Luckily, the Eleventh Hour Rescue was really kind to take him back and find him a new home.

“Eleventh Hour Rescue’s adoption policy is that if an adopter cannot keep one of our dogs for any reason, the dog must come back to us,” they said. “And so Moose did just that. No matter how crowded we are, we always make room for one of our own.”

With the help of the shelter, Moose finally found a second chance in his new family. After everything he suffered, we all hope that this loving guy would be able to live a wonderful life from now on. Good luck, baby!
